Assistant Chief, Clark County Department of Building & Fire Prevention (Nev.)
Assistant Chief Adolf Zubia currently oversees over 40 Fire Inspectors, 3 Deputies Fire Marshals for Clark County Building and Fire Prevention, Nevada.
Prior to his appointment as International Director, Asst. Chief Zubia served as the chairman for the IAFC’s Fire and Life Safety Section (FLSS) since 2012.
His previous work experience includes: Fire Chief, Nevada County Consolidated Fire District, California and State Fire Marshal for South Carolina. He also is the retired from the Las Cruces Fire Department, New Mexico, where he served as Fire Chief from 2001-2009, and as a City and County Fire Marshal from 1992-2001.
In 1999, he successfully completed the four-year Executive Fire Officer Program at the National Fire Academy. He has also completed a three-week Harvard’s Fellowship Annual Program for Senior Executives in State and Local Government.
In addition to his work at the IAFC, Asst. Chief Zubia has served on the International Code Council Board of Directors from 2003-2010, serving as President from 2008-2009. He was also President of the New Mexico Fire Marshal Association for 5 years and as President of the New Mexico Fire Chief’s Association for 4 years.
